A Wildlife Garden Plan

Have you thought about using Free Garden Design
Software
To
Create A Workable Wildlife Garden Plan?

How can garden design software help us with creating a wildlife garden

Garden planning software helps us focus on key factors when deciding on the
plan we will eventually commit to.
Here are a few key factors to keep in mind:

- Keep it Simple, have a broad plan then go with the flow.

- Keep it to Size, in other words keep working with the shape and size of your garden.

- Keep Stirring the Senses with Shapes, Textures, Colours and Scents.

- Keep it Satisfying to yourself.

- Keep the practicalities in mind such as access to the rubbish bins and having storage.

- Keep in mind we need to have confidence in our garden plan and give it a chance to
come to fruition, to maturity which takes..... TIME AND PATIENCE.

Sticking to a garden plan is probably the most effective strategy we can have when starting
to create or transform
an existing garden into a wildlife friendly garden.

The reason being if we are constantly changing areas then nothing is allowed to become established and we never actually see the end result. We need to spend time working out
how we can make the best use of the areas and then have the resolve to stick to our plan.

Picture
The focal point can be a gateway, a statue, a seating area or something similar, even an extended view over the garden fence or wall.
A simple but very effective garden
design software technique is to have
a focal point, then weave the
garden plan from and around this.

The idea is your eye is naturally taken
to this point, much like a landscape
photograph will be formatted to
draw the eye to the main feature.

Free garden design software can help us create a wildlife garden by giving us the means to try out different ideas digitally without the work. Then we can pick the best of the bunch!

When considering new hard landscape features such as a path, mark it out and use it for a while before putting your back into it and finding out later its not quite right. For instance if dustbins will need to be wheeled along the path try it out at this stage. This approach can be taken with carrying water from a water butt.

This avoids frustration in the future. Hopefully now the structure and shape of the garden is completed we leave it as it is. And once we have set out the planting areas we can choose the plants according to each area.

Here especially can we keep stirring the senses with shapes, textures, colours and scents and keep it satisfying to ourselves by adding variety and freshness to the garden with complementary plants we may discover in the future.

Not all of us like pencil and paper so we may choose to achieve all of the above straight off with some form of garden design software or garden planning software. Many of these can produce a 3D image of whatever plan we have drawn up. Most garden design software have options that suggest what plants to use in different situations including container gardening.

So depending how computer literate we are these could prove to be a real asset. This could be a new skills situation for most of us, so we may prefer to test our skills with free garden planning software or free garden design software that can be found on the internet.

We still need to be prepared to give time and effort to learn how to make best use of these. When choosing garden design we need to keep things in perspective, most of us do not have the time, expertise or resources to compete with those who have designed and produced a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show.

We know what we like and our garden is OUR GARDEN and if we like it and its also proving to be inviting to local wildlife then our garden plan is working.

Free garden design software can help us to have this happy result.

Take your TIME and then stick to your garden plan is a gardening tip well worth taking to heart to help create a wildlife friendly garden!
